Trying Ridge Racer V (PS2) PC Recompilation v 1.1.0 (2026 10 20 21 47 37)

Ridge Racer V originally released in 2000 by Namco as a launch title for the PlayStation 2. Ridge Racer V remains a classic arcade racer, part of the famous Ridge Racer series that is known for its sense of speed, distinctive drifting mechanics, stylish presentation and energetic soundtracks (Kudos to the composers).

Now, thanks to the unofficial Fukami Recompilation 1.1.0, released on October 14, 2026, this PS2 favourite can run natively on Windows, Linux and macOS without conventional console emulation. Developed by danisandoval, the project translates the original PlayStation 2 MIPS code into C++, introducing modern enhancements including 60fps progressive output, up to 8× internal rendering resolution, true widescreen support up to 21:9, extended draw distances, improved vehicle detail and faster loading times.

Requiring game data from an original, legally owned copy, this remarkable preservation effort gives Ridge Racer V a new lease on life, combining its authentic arcade racing experience with the visual clarity and performance capabilities of modern hardware.

Thanks for watching, Mark
