Currently playing through Horizon Zero Dawn on PC and I must say I quite like it. The engine is less polished than the Control game I played before but the story is quite something and the visuals are simply stunning. The sense of space is amazing. The AI of the creatures is quite something – sneaking around avoid getting detected is quite something. Laying your traps and actually hunting.
The game does require you to actually hunt on game and use it to progress in the game and complete certain tasks so this game might possibly not appeal to a Vegan or Vegetarian audience. It’s in there, doesn’t play a huge part but it’s in there.
I am playing it on my gaming rig in the gameroom on a 4K TV but wondered how it would run and look on the 49″ Ultrawide monitor on my editing rig in my study. So I tried – the save game is nicely synced through the steam cloud – so I just continued where I left of. I’ll post an unedited video of two small missions I just played through captured with the built-in driver capture option 60 the smooth 60fps experience might not come across in this video.
Elise played through this at 4K on the PS4Pro and it looks stunning on the PS4Pro as well. On PC the framerate on my rig can easily be locked at a rock solid 60fps. I’ve read that the game would also do that on the rather elusive mythical PS5 console…
Thanks for watching and I’ll be back with more videos soon.
