I had to retire my trusty i7 4790K rig because Microsoft doesn’t support Windows 10 anymore and for some reason it’s deemed obsolete when it comes to Windows 11. So Linux also for this machine from this day onwards.
– Bazzite-nvidia-open-stable-live.iso works well
– Nobara-43-Official-NV-2026-03-28.iso works well
– LinuxMint-22.3-Cinnamon-64bit.iso (LTS) works well ( version used in this video)
So the machine has retired from Windows (although I might actually op to install Windows 11 virtually in a VM at some point 😛 )
Just the raw footage of something that I thought might be an interesting video to narrate over. But but that’ll be another video after this one.
– no narration
– raw gameplay
– captured as I was using the machine checking out games & emulation to see if it would make an interestring video showcasing similar footage for a potential i7 4790, rtx 2070 still worth it in 2026 type video… (pending)

01:10:58 – Attempt to Launch Horizon Zero Dawn (fails, because of synch and resolution error**)
** I had been playing Horizon Zero Dawn in Ultrawide 1080p resolution but for the purposes of the emulators I had set my monitor to 1920×1080 – Horizon Zero Dawn/Steam got confused when I tried to launch it with the ultrawide settings yet the monitor was in 1920×1080 – idiosyncracies not a big fail)
This machine still is quite a beast still in my opinion.
My Twitter: NOT – it’s rather dead with it’s fake ✔️ and rather toxic community
