A long time ago I gave my Acer Travelmate 292Lmi laptop away to mom so she could have a nice Windows XP computer next to her Mac. She’s actually still using it today.
I recently installed a Pentium III Voodoo3 Windows98SE Retrogaming PC and wanted to do the same with the first machine I played a ton of Windows XP games on. That is the laptop mom still uses. I found a reasonable replacement TravelMate 292LCi which is a slight variation on the original one for only €35 fully functioning. The lid has some wear and tear as well as the left mouse button on the trackpad but for the rest this system is in quite good nick for a machine that’s about a decade and a half.
