What happens when you combine a VHS player, a video cassette and a giant plastic gun? You get the Video Challenger!

Released in the late 1980s, the Video Challenger was an unusual attempt to turn VHS into an interactive video game. Rather than using a console or computer, the game plays from a VHS cassette while the Challenge Blaster detects targets on screen and keeps your score.
Expect vintage VHS footage, bizarre 1980s technology, light-gun action, explosions, questionable game design and plenty of retro nonsense along the way.

This is something I’ve been meaning to review ever since I started the channel! In fact, this video was originally going to be a Retro Bytes episode, but there was so much I wanted to cover, it ended up becoming a standard, full length review!
