#T-bao #MN25 #Ryzen5-2500U & #Vega8 mini PC.
I got this review unit as a gift – I was asked to provide written feedback, this video is my own. Content and opinion has nothing to do with the maker of the computer or the person who gave this PC.
The unit comes with:
– Vega 8 Radeon Graphics
– 2x4Gb SODIMM 2600Mhz dual channel DDR4
user replaceable.
– M.2 NVME SD 256Gb Intel
– Small form factor with beefy gaming laptop cooling solution.
Nice packaging, but immediately some gripes.
There was a loose piece of metal rattling around the PC which made it
mandatory to take it apart before even attempting to turn it on. Turned out one of the four screws that hold the mother-board in place was loose and actually had no real thread to be threaded into. It came with a Euro plug and decent instructions multi language.
The pilot light on the power supply doesn’t come on when you hook it up to
mains. Basically the power supply was dead on arrival. Thankfully the system uses a pretty standard 19V, 3.42A center positive laptop power supply. I had a couple of them lying around from old discarded laptops. Always knew one of those power supplies would come in handy.
So:
1) rattling loose motherboard screw.
2) power supply DOA
3) You can hear the fan ramp up and down. The fan is pretty adequate.
4) preinstalled activated English window which is best factory resetted.
Would I recommend? Well with this type of seemingly absent quality control (there were no QC marks or stickers anywhere in the device) and asking price 250-350 local currency (USD, EURO, Pounds)
I’d say….. no? Perhaps?
If you get one for free – by all means.
This video has been captured with OBS, edited with Davinci Resolve on the same machine – so it doesn’t do the performance of the machine justice.
– PS3 Outrun runs smoother than the capture shows as do the emulators and games, but that is what you get when you capture the gameplay on the same machine.
As it was a heatwave I couldn’t be @rsed to turn on one of my big rigs as they would have heated up the room even more.
